I hosted my domain with JustHost (they are HORRIBLE) and changed to hostgator (so far happy), well justHost said they would release my name after 60 days. Well I am trying to register it and when I try it says that it is unavailable. Does that mean someone else got it? There is no whois info or anything. I am kinda freaking out because it is my online store name. I will email JustHost, but they usually take hours to a day to respond. Any help appreciated!

1. Your domain name is unavailable for new registration since it’s already registered and owned by you.
2. No one can transfer a domain name less than 60 days after the registration. It’s the rule for all domain names, and it has nothing to do with JustHost.
3. You can easily point that domain name to your new website on Hostgator. Just login to your JustHost control panel, go to your domain name DNS settings and enter the Hostgator’s name servers:
ns1.hostgator.com
ns2.hostgator.com
login to your Hostgator control panel and add that domain name to it.
(it might take a couple of hours for DNS to propagate so maybe it won’t work right away)
4. If you’ve asked for a refund from JustHost and you don’t have an access to your JustHost account anymore, you should still be the owner of a domain name and you should check this with JustHost.
5. After 60 days from your domain name registration you can transfer the domain to Hostgator or any other domain name registrar. You won’t be able to to do a new registration of the same domain name until it expires (12 months from the registration date), but it’s not a good idea to let it expire since someone else can register it before you. But you can transfer it. Just check the Hostgator FAQ on how to do it.
6. You can check the whois info from http://whois.domaintools.com/
In the cPanel of HostGator, there should be a way to transfer your domain. Look through it and find the way, it should give you a step-by-step guide.
