Why can i get fast load of Fatcow on Comcast all pages working perfectly but via ATT.net it takes 36s?

My ATT.net service level is "Basic"
It is supposed to run at or provide:
Download speed = 384 -> 768Kbps
Upload speed = 123 -> 381Kbps

ATT helped me do a line check. It is good.

We did a speed check, that is also good… consistently producing;
Download speed = 660Kbps
Upload speed = 360Kbps

The problem is that when i finally get the Control Panel page to open (36s load-time) then FileManager takes the same 35sec too via ATT, but then that window does Not have all the info and page menu will not work. The active JavaScript information needed to work with is Not there.

Also, if i change to the new beta version they offer, the disable button will not function… and i can not return to the original version, also the sub-menus will Not drop down even in the normal version any more as they always used to do. It is as if not all the information is reaching me anymore. Somehow it is not getting through the ATT service provider now. It used to a month ago.

BUT if I try a friend’s computer that uses Comcast, then Fatcow loads perfectly…
2sec upload of URL. I get the same 1-2sec login time to open Control Panel and same 1sec load for all windows within control panel!

Also, I don’t seem to have problems with any other website loading time.

Using the Comcast service provider, everything is perfect… even with the new beta version File Manager that Fatcow forces you to use … everything works, and also the SQL window that is also in the new beta version.

Also, i should note that if i try Fatcow’s new beta version, using my ATT.net service provider, the disable button Fatcow provides to return to the old version will not work. I then have to get Fatcow tech to do it. It is as if the code to run even that button never reaches my computer via ATT.net

Why the difference between ATT and Comcast?

ATT says its a Fatcow problem and that they are very familiar with Fatcow’s claimes that it is them, ATT.net which is the problem… and ATT.net then even tells me that an upgrade to Express will NOT fix the issue.

When have you ever heard of a service provider telling you to Not upgrade, that it isn’t needed!

I can tell you that looking at Fatcow’s source code there are almost 400 blank lines about a quarter of the way down the page.

If i use IE, it says there are Errors on the page when finally done loading.
Using Netzero as a service provider works almost as fast as Comcast, says my volunteer webmaster, who says there are 100’s of warnings when the pages do load.

My webmaster says that Fatcow’s code is atrocious and FULL of bugs… god does he scream at them.

I hear this same thing about their code from other folks too, some of whom worked at Yahoo as Symphony coders.

I think that is all i have to offer as details, and yes, i have cleared, cookie, cache, etc.
Just so everyone know- whatever it was that was the problem got fixed late 6/8/10 afternoon. I haven’t been able to find out yet what Fatcow did 2 fix it- they were as befuddled as was @ 1:00pm. Now the homepage loads in 3sec. & login in 1sec. & all the missing pages with all the beta version stuff in 1sec. each. Amazing! I am really curious, so i will be trying 2 pull out the details- if they will tell me-

I think it would make 4 a great Technorati.com detective mystery with a happy ending=

Fatcow all tied up with & ATT.net phone cord & the phone all covered with cow flops- both blaming each other- people talk- service providers actually try 2 help their client- Cow & Phone become friends-
Comcast doesn’t get another customer.

Oh, did i mention – ATT.net helped me do a speed test and i was on the very high end of what i was paying for- & they even Discouraged me from upgrading my service from basic, saying it wouldn’t change a thing!

When did U ever head of THAT ! ! !

  1. John says:

    It was probably a DNS issue on ATT’s side.
